VET Statement of Attainment in Patternmaking Principles and Modifying Patterns to Create Basic Style
Registered Training Organisation number: 41475
Two units are taken from the Certificate II and III in Applied Fashion Design and Technology course. There are assessments to complete and must be competent before the student receives a statement of attainment. A statement of attainment will be presented at the end of the group of units, once all assessments have been completed and the student is competent.
The mode of delivery is blended learning this includes face to face or video conferencing, homework, practical work and observations in the studio and research. Classes are kept to a minimum of four students in any one session.
The student develops their own simple style pattern, straight skirt, simple blouse, or straight dress using their own body measurements(s) and incorporate skills in modifying patterns. The final pattern is used for developing the first toile in calico which is fitted to the student for the perfect fit. The student can go on to complete a garment in the fabric of their choice. Students receive a statement of attainment for the two units of competency when units are completed and competent.
